Running On Empty Presentations
Would you like to schedule a retreat or conference focusing on the content in Running On Empty? Here's a sample three-session presentation:
Session I: The Road to Exhaustion: Living For God Instead of With God
Many Christians, especially leaders in the local church, are so busy working for God that they miss out on living in intimate communion with God. Through personal stories and experiences, Fil Anderson will help us identify the truth about the nature and character of God, and share how flawed images of God can damage spiritual growth and prevent intimate communion with God.
Session II: The Road to Intimacy: Living Life With God in Solitude and Prayer
The busyness of life and ministry presents many challenges to Christians, particularly those serving as leaders. In this session, Fil will help us discover a roadmap to intimate fellowship with God, emphasizing the benefit of solitude, and our need for an on-going awareness of God’s nearness. He’ll offer practical steps to make intimate time with God a reality in daily life.
Session III: The Road to Transformation: Living With God in Holy Scripture
Countless Christians read their Bible daily to gain knowledge and information, but fail to hear God really speak to them through the Word. With the hectic pace of everyday life and ministry, our focus subtly shifts to mastering information rather than living with the Master. In our final session, Fil will explore our need for reflective and prayerful reading of Scripture, and offer us a roadmap of useful steps that will help us learn to approach the Scriptures for "transformation" instead of "information.”.
